Recently I had to take pictures of our new listing in the Deercross subdivision and the 4th bedroom is currently being used as an office. I loved it…something right out of the Pottery Barn catalog!

Just started the FLIP video’s for our listings. Trying to keep them short and sweet and trying not to get anyone sick with the panning. What do you think? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
As a life long resident of the Lake Norman area, it was hard to imagine the Lake as a vacation destinataion for travelers from all over the United States…I found out a few years ago how wrong I was!!!
We purchased a small home on the water a few years ago with the plan of updating it, renting it out as a yearly lease for a few years…then selling it. Hopefully for a profit! Then the thought crossed our minds that it could be more profitable to rent it out weekly as opposed to monthly. So, when the remodel was complete, we furnished the home from top to bottom with great furniture, kitchen supplies, linens, small appliances…the works.
It took about a month from the time we began advertising on VacationRentals.com and VRBO.com to book the home out solid for the entire summer for $1750 per week. We were SHOCKED! We had plans to charge a monthly rent of the same! We were pleasantly suprissed to find out just how many people wanted to come to Lake Norman to spend their vacation time with their families. We also booked the home for other events throughout the year…..wedding parties, families visiting during the holidays, graduations, NASCAR race weeks, spring breaks, class reunions, etc. We even had guests stay that booked for several weeks why they shopped for their future permanent home in the area.
At the time we started renting, there were only a dozen waterfront homes available for weekly rental. Now, there are over 100, all around Lake Norman, from the small lake cottage, to the enormous waterfront estate. You have your choice. The options are varied and come in all sizes and price ranges.
If you need help in finding a vacation rental on Lake Norman, please never hesitate to call me! It is truly a wonderful way of enjoying your the lake, for just a little more $ than the cost of a hotel room! (Especially if you are bringing your family, or several couples are traveling together. It is also a great option for those in need of furnished temporary housing in the area for whatever reason.
And if you are interested in investing in a Lake Norman waterfront home…it is a great way to see some return on that investment!!!!
Here’s a thought…..Just say you live elsewhere, but have plans of retiring to Lake Norman in the future. Why not BUY NOW while prices and interest rates are LOW, and rent the home out weekly. That way you can cover some of those mortgage expenses and still use the property when you would like.
